About Me

Hi! My name is Monica, I have been a professional software developer since 2009. I have been developing web applications for businesses in the Education, e-Commerce and Marketing space. The main technologies I like to work with are Elixir, React and Ruby on Rails. I have experience working with distributed systems and have a passion for Functional Programming and Domain-Driven Design.

I also really enjoy teaching. I was part-time instructor and curriculum creator at Lighthouse Labs for several years. I also got a chance to volunteer at "learn to code events" like Ladies Learning Code, Girls Learning Code and Gathering Our Voices and HTML500.

When I'm not coding, you can find me working on a Ford Transit camper van conversion or rock climbing in Beautiful British Columbia.
